Creative Copywriting & Editing

Out of date? Refresh it – add the latest news, new hires and sector commentary.

Raise the profile. Send a news release and picture to relevant trade sector media.

Creative copywriting, clear and concise, to inform customers.

It’s shorter, reads better, but still reinforces the brand or company message.
Writing is a craft. Whether it’s copywriting from scratch, editing submitted copy, refreshing websites, producing corporate literature, pictorial case studies or drafting a blog, it will receive traditional care but with a modern touch, because it’s likely that you require less to achieve more.
Fewer words, yet more effective ones…
Providing an outsourced copywriting and editing service, we’ll meet you and learn about your communication needs, then work to the requested style and deadline. It could be updating a website, a news release, e-bulletin content, a blog posting or a pdf brochure? It’s a multi-platform world now, where information is accessed and updated 24/7.
Supplying clients who are mostly based in south Hampshire, Sue Hughes Ltd was established in 2006 by a former Newsquest journalist (NCTJ qualified) and Archant Hampshire Life chief writer with more than 25 years’ experience working for publishing groups, private and public sector clients (Sue also has a CAM/CIM Advanced PR qualification).
From ‘flexible writing flowing when you need it’ we’ve evolved as clients’ requirements have altered with the development of digital media and portable devices. Some have moved from traditional news releases to shorter web content which they upload; others prefer a regular supply of e-shot items to a seasonal printed publication. Some choose both! If you want a great looking pdf to email to customers or print for a trade show, we can produce it.
Whilst there’s always a place for a longer read (features and case studies), in the app age we’ve honed our craft to incorporate the trend for shorter content ‒ without compromising on quality or message. Our goal is to become a regular outsourced copywriting partner.
Incorporate professional writing when required through a fixed project fee, day or hourly rate. It’s simple, flexible and designed for organisations which don’t have big budgets or an in-house media team.
Our fees are based on the time spent researching, writing and editing. They are clearly outlined before work commences. ‘Work in progress’ reports keep clients updated at every stage and (if applicable) any authorised expenses are agreed from the start.
We are increasingly ‘keeping it local’, focusing on Southampton, Winchester, Portsmouth and the New Forest. If you want to talk, change a brief or check remote work, we’re accessible using FaceTime or Skype, part of our efforts to reduce both our environmental impact and your project costs.
